The Webasto Mustang Lithium project converted a Ford Mustang to battery electric replacing the OEM ICE powerplant. X Consulting assisted EVDrive by writing the controls firmware for managing the entire BEV systems including charging, managing the HV PDU, and motor control. Extensive firmware was written to emulate the OEM powertrain control module on CAN so the rest of the OEM systems were unaware of the BEV conversion. All required data was translated between the OEM CAN bus and the EV CAN busses. An aftermarket dash replaced the original infotainment system and a custom Android app was written to provide an EV dash to supplement the existing dash.
